Follow the Stars returns to Oxford for 30th anniversary concert supporting Macmillan

Actors Toby Jones, Jeremy Irons, Sinéad Cusack and Max Irons will join broadcaster and comedian Mel Giedroyc for the 30th Follow the Stars concert at Christ Church Cathedral on Friday, 11 December, as organisers aim to raise the £1 million milestone for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Christmas in Oxford is set to sparkle once again as Follow the Stars returns to Christ Church Cathedral at 8pm on Friday, 11 December. This much-loved festive fixture is aiming for a milestone of its own this year: reaching £1 million raised for Macmillan Cancer Support through the concert over the years.

And what better way to celebrate than with another stellar line-up? For its 30th outing, Follow the Stars welcomes actors Toby Jones, Jeremy Irons, Sinéad Cusack and Max Irons, alongside broadcaster and comedian Mel Giedroyc.

Celebrated tenor Thomas Elwin will also perform during an evening of music and Christmas readings, with the Oxford Bach Soloists once again providing the musical magic.

Set against the magnificent backdrop of Christ Church Cathedral, the concert promises an atmospheric start to the festive season. Whether gathering a group of friends, taking the family or rounding up colleagues, it offers a special opportunity to enjoy a sparkling night out while supporting a vital cause.

While the candles, carols and celebrity guests provide plenty of Christmas cheer, the heart of Follow the Stars remains its fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support. Every pound raised helps the charity support people living with cancer, offering practical, emotional and financial assistance when it is needed most.

The concert is also an opportunity to remember those whose lives have been touched by cancer and celebrate the compassion of families, friends, volunteers and healthcare professionals.

After 30 years, this spirit of community remains at the heart of the event, with organisers hoping the anniversary concert will finally take the total raised beyond the £1 million mark.

For anyone looking for a little festive sparkle with a worthwhile cause at its heart, Follow the Stars could be the perfect way to kick off Christmas.

Tickets are available through Tickets Oxford or in person at the Oxford Playhouse.
