The Watermill Theatre’s hit musical adaptation returns by popular demand, inviting families to follow Pinocchio on a festive adventure full of music, mischief and magic.
A much-loved festive favourite is returning to the Watermill Theatre this Christmas, as its smash-hit musical adaptation of Pinocchio comes back by popular demand after packed houses and a place among The Guardian’s top 10 theatre shows of 2024.
Lovingly carved in Geppetto’s workshop, Pinocchio is a wooden boy with a big appetite for adventure. While his parents dream of a bright future for their son, Pinocchio longs to explore the world beyond the workshop.
His journey soon takes him from fun and freedom into a series of extraordinary encounters – and more than a few calamities.
Along the way, there are fires to start, troublesome characters to contend with, a transformation into a donkey and, of course, an unforgettable trip inside a whale. Through it all, Pinocchio must navigate difficult choices and learn important lessons about growing up.
Full of courage, heart and theatrical magic, this lively musical celebrates family, friendship and the unconditional love that helps us find our way home.
Suitable for audiences aged four and over, the production runs for one hour and 55 minutes, with tickets starting at £15. Festive food and drink offers are also available.
