A night of live stand-up comedy at The Rising Sun on 6 December 2026 will raise funds and awareness for Berkshire Music Trust, helping more people experience the benefits of music.
An evening that puts the fun into fundraising is in store next month, as Berkshire Music Trust teams up with a Reading pub for a night of laughter in support of its work.
Supported by The Rising Sun in Castle Street, the event forms part of the pub’s Hub in a Pub initiative, which provides space for charity and community activities.
The intimate comedy evening will give supporters the chance to enjoy live entertainment while raising money and awareness for the Trust.
Berkshire Music Trust is a registered charity working to enhance and enrich the lives of children, young people and adults through music. Across the county, it works in schools, music centres and community settings, offering opportunities ranging from early-years music and instrumental tuition to ensembles, choirs and inclusive community programmes.
A key part of its work is bringing music into communities and reducing barriers to participation. This includes activities for young people, families and community groups, alongside inclusive programmes for people with additional needs and music-for-wellbeing sessions.
The wider aim is to make music accessible, enjoyable and transformative for people throughout Berkshire.
The Rising Sun supports the event through its Hub in a Pub initiative, which makes space available for charity and community gatherings. The pub has already hosted activities including charity quiz nights and community groups, helping bring people together for worthwhile causes.
The comedy evening takes place on 6 December at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £15 and are available through Jokepit.
