Beatrix Potter’s The Tailor of Gloucester gets a rock and pop remix with a special performance at The Pirrie Hall, Brook, this month ahead of Farnham Maltings run.
It’s Christmas Eve, the one night of the year when animals can speak. A struggling tailor and a family of sharp, ambitious mice find themselves on the brink of success. Fame and fortune await – but at what cost for their friends and neighbours?
Taking the familiar world of Potter’s industrious mice and transforming it for today, this new adaptation of The Tailor of Gloucester introduces fashion, branding and social media alongside a live soundtrack of rock and pop. A cast of four combine music, puppetry and theatrical storytelling to spin the tale into a colourful new Christmas adventure.
At the heart of the story are courage, community and the power of doing good, even when no one is watching. Designed for generations to enjoy together, The Tailor of Gloucester offers families something a little different this Christmas: a festive show bursting with energy, colour, jokes and mischief.
After the huge success of the hilarious All For Your Delight, The Pirrie Hall is hosting this production on Saturday 21 November 2026, to make use of the loved community asset and raise some much-needed funds for its upkeep.
Doors open at 6pm for a 6.30pm start.
Tickets are £10 for under 18’s / £12 for adults – please contact Emily Bourne at pirriehallbrookfete@gmail.com.
All profits will go to The Pirrie Hall & Recreation Ground.
