Bartholomew Players bring Neil Simon’s Plaza Suite to Eynsham with BAFTA-winning director

Love, marriage and mayhem take centre stage at Eynsham Village Hall from 25 to 28 November 2026, as the Bartholomew Players present Neil Simon’s classic comedy under the direction of Laurence Marks.

Love, marriage and a lot of mayhem are checking into Eynsham Village Hall this November, thanks to Neil Simon’s much-loved comedy Plaza Suite.

Directed by BAFTA award-winning writer and director Laurence Marks, the production promises four evenings of fast-paced laughs, sharp New York wit and wonderfully chaotic relationships.

Set in Room 719 of Manhattan’s Plaza Hotel, the play unfolds across three hilarious acts, each exploring a very different relationship.

There’s a long-married couple attempting to rekindle their romance, a Hollywood producer reconnecting with his high-school sweetheart, and frantic parents trying to persuade their daughter to leave the bathroom on her wedding day.

“This show is fast, funny, and deeply relatable,” says Laurence Marks, who has praised Simon’s ability to capture the chaotic reality of relationships.

The Bartholomew Players also welcome new members interested in acting or working backstage. The award-winning, friendly company is keen to hear from anyone who would like to get involved.

Plaza Suite runs at Eynsham Village Hall, OX29 4QW, from 25 to 28 November 2026. Doors open at 7pm, with performances starting at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £14 per person, with allocated seating, and can be booked through trybooking.com/uk/event/119397.

For those unable to book online, 20 allocated seats per performance are reserved and available through Evenlode DIY in Eynsham.
