Malmesbury is getting its first Howl-oween celebration this October, with a spooktacular afternoon of doggy dress-up, competitions, treats, artisan stalls and autumnal fun at The Old Bell Hotel.
Calling all four-legged fashionistas! The Old Bell Hotel is bringing a brand-new Halloween celebration to Malmesbury this October, with Howl-oween promising an afternoon of autumnal fun for dogs, their humans and the wider community.
Taking place on Saturday, 31st October from 12pm-3.30pm at The Cloisters Gardens, the event will combine a dog show, costume competition, artisan stalls and plenty of seasonal treats. So, whether your pup is a natural-born star or prefers watching from the sidelines, there’s plenty to get tails wagging.
For those entering the competition, categories include Spookiest Costume, Best Senior Dog, Best Human and Dog Duo and the coveted Best in Show. Dressing up is, of course, encouraged – and we suspect there may be some seriously impressive canine couture on display.
There’ll also be trick-or-treat fun, pet supplies, freshly baked goodies and unique gifts to browse, while a pet portrait opportunity means you can capture your pooch looking their Halloween best.
Food and drink will have a suitably spooky twist, with roasted chestnuts, toffee apples and warm apple punch alongside novelty Franken-Furters and Beastly Burgers.
Tickets cost £15 per adult and dog, while spectators are £10 and under-12s go free. After the show, head to The Old Bell’s Tyger Bar or Abbey Row Restaurant, or make a weekend of it with one of the hotel’s Howl-oween getaway packages.
Book via eventbrite.com or at oldbellhotel.co.uk.
