Whether you’re fascinated by black holes, dreaming of becoming an astronaut or simply looking for a unique family day out, Woking Planetarium offers an unforgettable journey through the universe.

Located at The Winston Churchill School in St John’s, Woking, the immersive planetarium is the only state school-owned planetarium in the UK and welcomes the public to enjoy a packed programme of fascinating live shows outside school hours.

Inside the domed theatre, visitors are surrounded by breathtaking 360° visuals as planets, stars and galaxies come to life overhead. Using advanced Digitarium technology, presenters can transport audiences anywhere in the universe — from the Australian Outback to the rings of Saturn and even beyond our own galaxy — using real scientific data and imagery.

Every live presentation is different, reflecting the changing night sky and offering visitors a fresh experience with every visit. Alongside stunning 2K full-dome graphics and immersive 5.1 surround sound, audiences can discover everything from the Solar System and space exploration to weather, constellations and the mysteries of black holes.

There are also family-friendly themed shows, including a hugely popular dinosaur session, making the planetarium an ideal destination for children aged four and above while remaining just as engaging for adults.

Beyond its regular public programme, Woking Planetarium is also available for exclusive hire. The venue hosts everything from corporate events and Scout and Guide Space Badge sessions to creative experiences for artists and musicians, with presentations tailored to individual groups.

Officially opened in 2019 by Doctor Who actor Peter Davison, the planetarium continues to inspire visitors to look up and explore the wonders of the universe.
