Tom Stade brings new comedy show to Oxford before returning to Didcot in 2027

Canadian comedy favourite Tom Stade is bringing his latest stand-up show, Tom Stade Rules, to Oxford on 18 November, following a sell-out, five-star-reviewed run at the Edinburgh Fringe. He will return to the area next spring for a performance in Didcot.

Who needs rules? Certainly not Tom Stade. The Canadian comedy favourite is bringing his new stand-up show, Tom Stade Rules, to Oxford this November, followed by a return to the area at Didcot’s Cornerstone next May.

Fresh from a sell-out and five-star-reviewed run at the Edinburgh Fringe, Stade’s 16th stand-up hour arrives at Glee Oxford on Wednesday, 18 November 2026, before he returns to the area for Cornerstone Didcot on Saturday, 8 May 2027.

The new show takes aim at the absurdities of modern life, with Stade turning his trademark laid-back delivery and sharply observed storytelling towards everything from unspoken social codes and cultural quirks to identity, marriage, family life and growing old disgracefully.

Expect the rulebook to be thoroughly shredded.

Stade has spent three decades on the comedy frontline, building a reputation as an engaging live performer with a knack for drawing audiences into his world. His previous show, Naughty By Nature, toured extensively in 2025, while Tom Stade Rules has already earned enthusiastic reviews following its Edinburgh run.

The Canadian-born comedian moved to the UK in 2001 and quickly made his mark on the comedy circuit. He has since appeared on some of the country’s best-known comedy shows, including BBC One’s Live at the Apollo and The John Bishop Show, as well as Mock the Week, Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow and Comedy Gala.

He has also performed at comedy festivals around the world and regularly entertained British troops overseas, while continuing to create a brand-new show each year.

There’s a strong thread of old versus new running through Tom Stade Rules, as Stade explores the tug of war between youthful rebellion and the responsibilities of being a grown-up. His material promises observations on the rules we inherit, the rules we invent and, naturally, the rules that are made to be broken.

Edinburgh reviewers have praised the show’s storytelling, crowd work, timing and energy, with material spanning everything from cultural and social conventions to relationships and the quirks of modern life.

With more than 60 dates across the UK and Ireland, Oxford gets its chance to see Stade in November before Didcot welcomes him in spring 2027.

Whether you fancy an evening of sharp observations, outrageous stories or simply need reminding that adulthood is largely an elaborate set of made-up rules, Stade has you covered.

Tom Stade Rules is at Glee Oxford on Wednesday, 18 November 2026, and Cornerstone Didcot on Saturday, 8 May 2027.
