Win! Guildford Beer Festival tickets

Round & About

Competition

With more than 100 beers to choose from not to mention ciders, wines & spirits, Guildford Beer Festival is a must with 4 pairs of tickets to be won.

The 2022 Guildford Beer Festival, now in its 12th year, is a celebration of local drink producers on Friday 29th and Saturday, 30th July.

You can enjoy more than 100 cask ales and keg craft beers from independent breweries, all located within 30 miles of Guildford. It’s not just beer on offer though. At the festival you’ll also find a number of local gin and rum producers, still and sparkling wine from Surrey and West Sussex plus a fantastic collection of cider – you’ve guessed it from local cider makers.

Music is also an important part of the festival, with live music in the Andertons Music Tent at all three sessions – Friday evening, Saturday afternoon and evening. There’s a wide range of acts at each session, many coming from the vibrant Guildford music scene. And for when you get hungry a number of local food stalls will be on hand!

The festival is held at Guildford Cricket Club, located a few minutes walk from the town centre. This allows the 2,000 plus crowd to make the most of the space, with seating on the cricket pitch as well as in marquees. Tickets, which cost £10 per session, can be bought online at www.guildfordbeerfestival.co.uk.

The website also contains many more details on the event.

Guildford Beer Festival are offering four pairs of entry tickets for a session of the winner’s choice.

Win! Two Opera South tickets

Round & About

Competition

Win! A pair of tickets to enjoy Bastien et Bastienne & An Incomplete Education in a beautiful outdoor setting in Alton or Fernhurst, thanks to Opera South.

“Opera is one of the most important art forms. It should be listened to and appreciated by everyone…” So said the late, great Luciano Pavarotti.

Opera South is returning to the open air!

On 16th & 17th & 24th July the team will bring you an outdoor production of Bastien & Bastienne  by W. A. Mozart and An Incomplete Education by Chabrier.

This is a unique opportunity to enjoy a riotous double-bill of rarely performed one-act comedies by two of opera’s most witty and inventive composers. Mozart wrote Bastien when he was just 12 years old but his charming pastoral about a young couple who doubt the sincerity of each other’s feelings displays much of the comic and vocal flair which would flourish in his later works.

Chabrier’s An Incomplete Education is a lively and intimate operetta about a pair of inexperienced newlyweds and their awkward first night together, packed with the French composer’s signature fizz and fun.

Starring some of the UK’s most exciting emerging singers, the performances will be staged at Lower House Farm in Fernhurst (16th & 17th July) and Privett Station near Alton (24th July), directed from the keyboard by Opera South’s musical director, Mark Austin.

Both locations are wonderful: Lower House Farm’s intimate walled garden in the long-standing home of the ex-chairman of Opera South and Privett is a historic former railway station, situated within the beauty of the South Downs National Park.

Tickets for each special evening are £50, with picnics encouraged and a dress code of smart casual.

To book, please visit thelittleboxoffice.com/operasouth.

Or to enter, fill in the form below before 12pm on Thursday 7th July
