Whether you’re returning to education, developing your professional expertise or simply following a curiosity, Oxford Lifelong Learning offers adults the chance to discover new subjects and keep learning at every stage of life.
In a fast-changing world, education can no longer be something we complete in youth and leave behind.
Lifelong learning helps us adapt, but it also helps us to question.
As technology becomes more powerful, adults need the confidence to assess information critically, understand different perspectives and make thoughtful choices.
These skills matter in the workplace, in our communities and in democratic life. Learning can also bring the simple rewards of discovery, connection and renewed purpose.
Adult education has been part of the University of Oxford’s mission since 1878.
The Oxford Lifelong Learning team welcome all adults who wish to grow through the power of education, whether they are returning to study after many years, developing their professional expertise or exploring a subject purely for enjoyment.
These short courses and part-time programmes are designed for the specific needs of adult learners and are delivered in a range of formats – including in-person, fully online, or through blended learning (a combination of online and in-person).
Subjects range from archaeology, history and creative writing to artificial intelligence, sustainability and the health sciences.
In an age of constant change, curiosity may be one of our most valuable skills.
Wherever you are in life, there is always something new to learn.
