Kindness in Bucks launches 2026 Christmas appeal to support families and NHS staff

DATE

October 26, 2026

Kindness in Bucks CIC is calling on local residents, schools and businesses to donate Christmas gift boxes for families facing hardship, children in hospital, expectant mums and NHS staff working over the festive period.

A little box can make a surprisingly big difference. That’s the thinking behind the 2026 Christmas appeal from Kindness in Bucks CIC, which is once again asking neighbours, schools, community groups and businesses to help spread festive cheer to people who could really use it.

The annual appeal collects thoughtfully packed Christmas gift boxes for local families experiencing hardship, children spending Christmas in hospital, expectant mums preparing for a new arrival, and NHS nurses, midwives and hospital staff working over the festive period.

The boxes will be distributed across Buckinghamshire, including to hospitals such as Wexham Park, High Wycombe and Stoke Mandeville.

Founded in 2023, Kindness in Bucks delivers practical acts of kindness through carefully created gift boxes designed to offer comfort, dignity and reassurance at what can be a particularly challenging time of year.

Each box contains around eight new items, chosen to feel festive, useful and uplifting. Donors are encouraged to get creative with the contents, provided everything included is new.

Those who would like to take part can wrap and pack their own box before dropping it off at Oakwood Estate Agents, opposite Costa Coffee in Beaconsfield, HP9 1QD; Hazlemere Library, HP15 7PY; or Patch Places in the Old Library Building, High Wycombe, HP11 1BG.

The deadline for dropping off boxes is Monday, 23 November 2026, giving the team time to check, sort and deliver the gifts ahead of Christmas.

Short on time but still keen to help? A donation of £25 allows Kindness in Bucks to put together a complete Christmas box on your behalf. Schools, community groups and businesses can also support the appeal by organising their own collections.

The appeal has grown considerably since it began, with 101 boxes collected in 2023, 205 in 2024 and an impressive 302 in 2025.

Behind those numbers are hundreds of individual acts of thoughtfulness.

“Behind every box is a local story,” says Alison Harper, co-founder of Kindness in Bucks CIC. “Our focus is on Bucks families – children, parents and mums-to-be – while recognising the NHS staff who care for our community every day.”

Every box is an opportunity to remind someone that their community is thinking of them, helping make Christmas a little brighter for families, children and healthcare staff who may need extra support.
