Our story

Round & About Magazine is the largest circulating free regional magazine, covering six counties across southern England; Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, Oxfordshire, Surrey and Wiltshire.

Established by Peter Savage in 1994, his vision was to create a magazine for readers by readers, delivered by the Royal Mail, ensuring maximum covering within each community. After working for most of his career in Fleet Street and in advertising agencies, he could see where publishing was going in the early 90s, and decided he could use his marketing knowledge to develop a better product with the community at its heart. We are delighted to be inundated every day by readers taking about their community events, fund raisers, school fete’s and sporting events, and this forms the heart of the magazine.

Now enjoying semi-retirement, the magazines are still in the hands of the family, directed by Chris Savage. From its original magazine in Wallingford & Didcot it has grown year on year, to 31 unique editions reaching some 609,013 homes EVERY month. As the world evolves we are delighted to say our magazines are still very much enjoyed and read month in month out, giving a voice for many organisations and associations.
